Beta Reservations open · monitoring not open yet
The price drops after you buy. Nobody tells you.
Some retailers will refund the difference if an eligible price falls inside their window — but only if you notice in time. Almost nobody re-checks. That is the entire problem DropRefund exists to solve.
- Refundable beta reservation
- Not a subscription
- The retailer makes the final decision

Illustrative example, not live data. Whether a difference is recoverable depends on the retailer’s current rules, and the retailer decides.
The opportunity disappears quietly
Nothing tells you a price moved. The window closes on a date you never wrote down, and the item you bought is not always the item that got cheaper.
You buy at the price of the day
Which is the correct decision at the time. The problem starts afterwards, when nothing is watching on your behalf.
The price moves without notice
A sale, a seasonal event, a quiet repricing. No email arrives. Re-checking manually every day is not something people actually do.
The window closes
Retailer windows are counted in days and differ by retailer, membership and category. Miss the date and the published route is simply gone.
What DropRefund is designed to do
Price tracking is the engine. Purchase protection is the product. Each stage below has to hold before the next one is worth anything — and the last two are not open to new customers yet.
Identify the exact product
From the retailer’s own product identifier, not a similar-looking title.
Available todayCompare like for like
Same seller, same condition, same market and currency — or the observation is discarded.
Available todayWatch comparable prices
Observe the retailer’s price for that exact item through the relevant policy window.
Not open yetSurface a potential claim
Alert with the deadline and the evidence, so you can decide whether to ask the retailer.
Not open yet“It got cheaper” is not enough
Two listings can share a brand, a title and a photo and still be different items. After you have already paid, a false match does not just add noise — it sends you to the retailer with a request that cannot qualify.
Same item — keep checking
The identifiers match, so the observation is about your item and can continue through the remaining checks. A matching identifier alone does not make a claim eligible.
Different item — discard
A lower number attached to a different product — a different storage tier, a marketplace seller, or last year’s model. It is thrown away rather than turned into a false alert.
The window is the whole opportunity
A price change only matters while the retailer’s own route is still open. That clock starts at purchase and is counted in days.
Windows differ by retailer, by membership status and sometimes by product category. Exclusions apply.
Best Buy Canada, as published today
- 30 days under the current Low Price Guarantee, extended to 60 days for My Best Buy account holders.
- If Best Buy’s own price falls after purchase, its policy describes presenting the original receipt within the window and requesting the difference.
- Marketplace items are excluded, along with special events and restricted promotions.
Best Buy makes the final eligibility decision. DropRefund is not affiliated with Best Buy.
Where the product actually is
We would rather show you the state of the build than imply a service that is not running yet.
A beta reservation holds your place in line. It does not start monitoring, it does not watch a product, and it is fully refundable at any time before monitoring begins. If we have not invited you to activate within 14 days, we refund you without you having to ask.

How we intend to stay worth trusting
This product touches money you have already spent. The failure mode that matters is not missing a price drop — it is confidently reporting one that does not hold up when you ask the retailer.
A comparison starts from the retailer’s own product identifier, not from a similar title.
If the seller, condition, currency or price evidence is ambiguous, the observation is discarded. “We cannot tell” is reported as “we cannot tell”.
Every policy claim links the retailer’s own current page and carries the date it was last checked.
We do not ask for your retailer login and do not act on your behalf with a retailer.
An observed price change is evidence that something moved. It is not a refund, an approval, or a promise of one.
The retailer decides whether a request qualifies. We cannot influence that decision.
