1. What DropRefund does
DropRefund is an information and record-keeping service for purchases you have already made. We offer it in one mode today.
1a. Assisted price protection
In assisted mode, you check the retailer’s product page and tell us the price you see. We do not read, load, or scrape the retailer’s page on your behalf.
What we do:
- We record the retailer, the product identifier, the price you paid, and the date you bought it.
- We record the retailer’s published price-protection policy as we understood it on the day you started, and use it to work out your deadline.
- We remind you, during that window, that it may be worth checking the price.
- We store each price you confirm, keep the history, and compare it with what you paid.
- We tell you whether the difference and the remaining window look worth acting on, and point you to guidance on how to ask.
What we do not do: we do not check prices for you, we do not contact the retailer for you, and we do not submit any request on your behalf.
You are responsible for the prices you enter. We compare what you tell us; we cannot verify it. If you enter the total value of an order rather than the price of the item, or a price from a different seller or product, the comparison will be wrong.
Conditions beyond price and date can still matter — stock, seller, product condition, promotional exclusions, proof of purchase, and the retailer’s own discretion. A price difference inside the window does not mean a request will be approved. The retailer alone decides. No price adjustment or refund is guaranteed.
1b. Automated monitoring
Automated monitoring — where DropRefund would check prices itself rather than asking you to — is a separate capability. It is not part of the service you are buying today and is not currently available to new customers. If it becomes available, it will be offered separately and described here before it is sold.
2. What DropRefund does not do
- We do not guarantee that any price will drop.
- We do not guarantee that a retailer will approve an adjustment.
- We do not submit requests on your behalf, and we never access your retailer account or funds.
- We are not a retailer and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any retailer.
The retailer alone decides whether an adjustment is approved.
3. What you must give us
You must give us accurate purchase information: the product link, the price you paid for that item (not the total value of your order), and the date you bought it. If any of those is wrong, your deadline and every comparison we make will be wrong.
The same applies to each price you confirm during the window: enter the current listed price for the same product on the retailer’s page, not a cart or order total.
4. Coverage
Assisted price protection covers a purchase only where we hold a recorded price-protection policy for that retailer and market, and only for items sold by the retailer itself. If we cannot identify the retailer and product from the link you paste, we cannot protect that purchase — you can reserve a place instead and we will follow up.
Automated monitoring is not active for any customer. We list a retailer for automated monitoring only once it is actually live.
4a. Beta reservations
A beta reservation is a one-time payment that holds your place in the DropRefund beta. It is not a subscription and it does not renew.
- A reservation does not start monitoring. We are not watching any prices for you, and you will not receive price-drop alerts while you hold a reservation.
- It is fully refundable at any time before monitoring starts, for any reason or none. Email support@droprefund.com. We aim to initiate an approved refund within 2 business days. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the refund to you, and that timing is outside our control.
- If we have not invited you to activate genuinely supported monitoring within 14 calendar days of your reservation, we will refund it without you having to ask.
- A reservation never converts to monitoring automatically. If monitoring becomes available we will invite you, and monitoring begins only if you confirm your purchase and explicitly activate protection.
- Places in the beta are limited. If the beta is full we will say so rather than take your money.
5. Retailer policies change
We track published retailer price-adjustment policies, but retailers can change deadlines, exclusions, and procedures at any time without notice to us.
6. Prices you confirm
Every price in your account in assisted mode is a price you confirmed seeing on the retailer’s page. We label it that way wherever we show it. We do not describe it as verified by the retailer, by us, or by any data provider, because it is not.
We keep those observations as a record for your account. We do not publish them and we do not sell them.
7. Fees
Assisted price protection is a one-time payment for one purchase, covering that purchase for the length of its recorded protection window. It is not a subscription and it does not renew. There are no plans, no tiers, and no usage limits.
Protecting a second purchase is a separate one-time payment.
The fee is for the service described in section 1a — the record, the reminders, the comparison and the guidance. It is not contingent on a price dropping and it is not a share of anything you recover. If no price drop occurs, or the retailer declines your request, the fee has still bought the service you received.
8. If something goes wrong
Email support@droprefund.com and we will look at it.
9. Service availability
This is an early-stage product. We may change, suspend, or discontinue it.
10. Retailer terms still apply
Your relationship with the retailer is governed by their terms, not ours.
